Get Involved

There's room for you at Saint Andrew! We offer many ways to get involved. Become an usher, greeter, cook, gardener, teacher, singer, ringer, player, student, volunteer, walker…the possibilities are endless!

Christian Education - Saint Andrew offers Sunday School classes to all ages from pre-school to adult. Join a class or volunteer to teach one!

Pee Wee Saints/Little Saints/Junior Saints - This Wednesday night program, which runs in the Fall and Spring, is for pre-school through high school students and their parents. Everyone enjoys dinner together, then the age groups separate for music, activities and studies.

Vacation Bible School - Each June, pre-school through fifth grade children participate in Vacation Bible School. The children learn about God's kingdom through music, crafts, games and field trips. Middle and High School youth and adults are invited to volunteer as helpers.

Youth Group - Our junior and senior saint programs offer youth activities during the school year. In addition, our youth have formed a band. The GAP (God's Awesome Power) band features guitars, drums, violins, singers…all youth are included, whatever their talent. The GAP band also meets during the summer months.

Choir - Do you enjoy singing? The Saint Andrew intergenerational choir has a place for you! Soloists and instrumentalists from the congregation provide special music from time to time.

Hand Bell Choir - Singers and non-singers alike can participate in our Hand Bell choir. Our Hand Bell group provides special music throughout the year.

Presbyterian Women (PW) - Women of all ages are invited to join our PW Circle groups to study the Bible from a female perspective, enjoy a time of fellowship and offer support to each other and the church.

Ageless Saints at Play (ASAP) - ASAP sponsors social activities for our mature church members. Sample activities include an antique road show, field trips, guest speakers, dinner theater, and games day.

SAMM Shelter - Our congregation provides volunteers at the SAMM Shelter downtown one or two evenings a month. We also provide childcare once a month for the SAMM family shelter on Blanco Road.

Emmaus - Saint Andrew has both men's and women's reunion groups. Emmaus is an ecumenical community of participants whose objective is to inspire, challenge and equip local church members for Christian life in their homes, churches and places of work. It is an opportunity to step away from the busy world and focus on God's message for your spiritual life. The Emmaus experience begins with a spiritual weekend retreat.

All-Church Work Days - Periodically Saint Andrew holds all-church workdays. A project list is provided in advance and members of all ages tackle the jobs that best fit their schedules, skills and inclination.

Session Committees - The Session of Saint Andrew consists of the Pastor and Elders in active service. Our Session members lead various committees and our members are invited and encouraged to serve on one or more committees:

Building and Grounds - oversees construction projects, landscaping and building maintentance.

Christian Education - oversees all educational programs for children and adults.

Personnel Committee - oversees employment of non-ordained staff and maintains church policies on special events.

Angel Tree Ministry - At Christmastime, Saint Andrew participates in the Angel Tree Prison Ministry by providing gifts for the children of inmates and presenting them to the children at a Christmas Party at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church.

Crop Walk - each Spring, courageous members of our congregation take part in a city-wide, 6-mile walk at Mission Park to raise funds to fight hunger, both locally and world-wide.
